Elina Albach

Harpsichordist

The harpsichordist Elina Albach studied with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis from 2009 to 2014. With her ensemble CONTINUUM, she develops innovative concert formats and combines the historical instrumentarium with contemporary programs. From 2017 to 2020, she was a fellow of the #beethoven project, developing new forms of presentation for baroque music in order to explore the topicality of early music. Her performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion for tenor, percussion, organ and harpsichord received the OPUS Klassik prize for the most innovative concert in 2019. It is exemplary for her idea of creating a new and more intense experience of canonised works of the Baroque period through condensation in small ensembles.
