Musician and cultural manager Christian Zech works primarily as a schoolteacher and music teacher. With his projects, he creates room for experiment. His great concern is for children, as well as parents and teachers, to discover their own creative potential in instrument-making, music-making and composing. In 2008, his organ project for children, organised for the Stuttgart Stiftsmusikfest, was awarded the Junge-Ohren [young ears] prize. In the 1990s he brought »Response«, the first large-scale educational project, from England to Germany. Today, Zech's format with his »creArte« association for artistic education, offers regular activities for primary school classes in the Stuttgart region, encouraging teachers to improvise with their pupils without reading music.
