The »Impossible Orchestra« came into being purely due to the circumstances of the Covid pandemic, for otherwise the musicians would never have been able to fit this project into their everyday work, planned far ahead as it usually is. Alondra de la Parra longed to escape from the living-room aesthetic of life under Covid; a concert format was needed. Her dream was to gather the world's top soloists around her – and she actually succeeded: numerous outstanding musicians from 14 different countries came together to perform Arturo Márquez's Mexican Symphony,  Danzón No. 2. The proceeds from the project go towards supporting Mexican women and children affected by Covid-19.
