UPDATE: Due to Corona, Edivaldo Ernesto's workshop on his »Depth Movement« technique cannot take place in May. We are looking for an alternative date and will inform you as soon as we know more!
The Ludwigsburg Festival is characterised by the diversity of its formats. In addition to hybrid events and events under the open sky, we are also pleased to present a number of workshops. One of these is Edivaldo Ernesto's »Depth Movement research« at the Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt Ludwigsburg. With his characteristic and organically intensive language of movement, which is unpredictable dynamics and inner rhythms, he captivated the audience of the concert week »Al fine da capo« with »I can't breathe«. In the 2021 season he will return to Ludwigsburg and will teach the workshop participants in two possible units (May 10-14 and May 17-21) the basic principles of his »Depth Movement« technique. The individual movement vocabulary will be deepened and developed in a group dynamic process, while Ernesto's learning approach sensitizes the dancers to new movement qualities. The two intensive workshops will be rounded off by changing sceneries such as Blühendes Barock. The results will be presented in the course of a show at the Ludwigsburg Festival 2021.
Edivaldo Ernesto has enriched the international dance scene with his improvisational and collaborative ideas. Still in his home country, Edivaldo Ernesto studied traditional Mozambican dance and added contemporary dance to his spectrum of movements. Since 2008 he has been a member of Sasha Waltz & Guests and was awarded with the Danza&Danza-Award as Best Dancer in 2020.
We are looking forward to the upcoming workshops and invite all interested professional dancers to register here for May 10-14 and here for May 17-21! The combination of both workshops is possible at a reduced rate. The Tanz- und Theaterwerkstatt Ludwigsburg is at your disposal for further questions.
