»Stegreif Orchestra #bfree« for Europe Day!

On the Digital Stage

The Ludwigsburg Festival is launching the 2021 season with new momentum digitally. After the prelude with the »Fest Spiel Overtüre«, we now continue with a project by the STEGREIF.orchester: #bfree. Starting on 8 May on the digital stage. We look forward to your virtual visit!

[This text has been translated electronically] Inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven’s 9th symphony – the »European Symphony«, the STEGREIF.orchester combines folk songs with elements from Beethoven’s monumental work. Their goal: to let Europe grow together in a symphony and to connect European cultures. In this project, too, the artists surprise the audience with their unusual approach to classical music and the fascinating expansion of Beethoven’s legacy. #bfree was created within the project #bebeethoven as a contribution to the Beethoven Year 2020. As the pandemic made its impact, the outcome feels even more accessible: in tension and distance, one feels the longing for closeness and togetherness. Across all European borders.

Experience the project #bfree on the Digital Stage on May 8th. Drop by!

As the official European anthem, Ludwig van Beethoven’s 9th symphony represents the values of freedom, peace, and solidarity. However, that wasn’t always the case. Learn more about one of the most famous pieces of music in the world.
