As a synthesis of music and dance, »The Day« explores drastic events. It all began with the composition »World to Come«, which was written under the terrible impressions of the collapsing towers of the World Trade Center. Years later, the question »What was the most important day in your life?« was added. On this basis, together with dance legend Wendy Whelan and iconic choreographer Lucinda Childs, »The Day« was created, a work that has to be postponed again due to the pandemic. Exclusively available instead are deeper insights into the artists' working process. A short film by Joshua Higgason and an inviting conversation between Jochen Sandig and the artists open up exciting perspectives on the eagerly awaited stage play.

A co-production with Theatre de la Ville Paris, Carolina Performing Arts at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jacob’s Pillow, The Joyce Theatre New York, Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA and the Ludwigsburg Festival. In cooperation with the Theaterhaus Stuttgart.
