Contrasts have always been an important characteristic in music. Whether major or minor, piano or forte, adagio or presto - music traces contrasts of life. With the program »Duality« the Oberon Trio makes these contrasts audible in a special way: Joseph Haydn's alternation between major and minor, Robert Schumann's struggle between melancholy and joy, and, as Toshio Hosokawa's music shows, even the single note carries a dualism within itself. At the same time, polarities get constructively bridged. We discover this in the dialogue between piano and string instruments. We experience it in the juxtaposition of classical repertoire and contemporary work. Besides art, the challenge of our time, in general, is to overcome the dualism that divides people. Like music, we are also capable of doing so.

The event can be heard free of charge additionally in the Court of Honour of the Residenzschloss.
