Christopher Moulds

Conductor

Conductor Christopher Moulds, closely associated with the Berlin State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, conducts repertoire ranging from Monteverdi, Handel, and Mozart through to Britten and contemporary works such as Birtwistle’s »Punch and Judy«. Moulds is often seen leading repertoire from the baroque era, including Purcell's »Dido and Aeneas«, for which he received the Russian Golden Mask Award for Best Conductor in April 2021 following performances at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Recent seasons have seen him conduct »Semele« at the Handel Festival Karlsruhe and »La Calisto« at Bavarian State Opera. In the 2021/22 season, Moulds continues to conduct Handel, including performances with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and at Stuttgart Opera. Further upcoming highlights include Sasha Waltz's acclaimed production »Dido and Aeneas« in Berlin and at the Ludwigsburg Festival.
