«Under the skin«

PLEASE NOTE: THE AUDIO IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

Is there is there thin skin and thick skin? What gets under our skin? What of it remains? These questions with the composer Isabel Mundry and the tattoo artist Seb Winter. And come from the inside out, past skulls and burning hearts, Mannheim’s hip-hop and Japanese hearts, Mannheim hip-hop and Japanese classical music. To the question of whether one should Mozart should really be heard naked.

»You don’t tattoo for Instagram or for the applause. You tattoo for your your living, breathing, feeling, thinking canvas.« (Seb Winter)

»Des Pudels Kern« is a new series of conversations around classical music, pop, philosophy, art and science. We suck the fat off, listen back and into the future. What does Mozart’s Figaro tell us about abuse of power, what links martial arts and archery, and what do we learn from romance for living in climate disaster? The Poodle offers listeners immediate access to music and what it has to say: about the beauty of the world and the crises of our time.

A production by Elisa Erkelenz and David-Maria Gramse in cooperation with Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Heidelberger Frühling, Mozartfest Würzburg, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Bochumer Symphoniker im Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr and WDR 3.
