A sense of adventure grips the four musicians of Brooklyn Rider when they take up their instruments. The New York string quartet is known for its accessible but genre- and border-crossing repertoire, with which it sometimes reinvents the string quartet genre. The Syrian clarinet virtuoso Kinan Azmeh also appreciates the creative round, which he has joined again and again for ten years now. With their own compositions, the musicians tell of love affairs with Persian classical and folk music and explain what links fathers-in-law, photosynthesis processes and sonatas.
