On June 9 and 10, Tanztheater Wuppertal will be a guest at the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele with Pina Bausch’s »Vollmond«. Wim Wenders gave this atmospheric piece a leading role in his award-winning film homage »Pina«. One will also recognise excerpts from the soundtrack in »Vollmond«. René Aubry, Jun Miyake, and Tom Waits are part of the musical melange to which the dancers unleash the emotional power of attraction and resistance in solos of strong character. Peter Pabst's impressive stage design frames the action: A huge rock, a stream of water, and spraying rain form the iconic centre of this timeless choreography, which can only be seen in Ludwigsburg in 2023. The cycle of constant becoming and passing, seduction and denial comes to a head and culminates in a wild rush of water. »Vollmond« tells of the longing for happiness – and the high art of finding the right balance in love.
