Renaud Capuçon

Violinist

Renaud Capuçon is one of the most important violinists of our time. The former pupil of Thomas Brandis and Isaac Stern has made a name for himself with his multifaceted artistic profile and wide-ranging repertoire. In addition to his work as a soloist, he is also active as a chamber musician, festival director and teacher. Familiar with renowned conductors and leading orchestras, he has inspired and enchanted classical music audiences worldwide since the 1980s. His affinity for chamber music has also opened doors, enriching collaborations with artists such as Martha Agerich, Yefim Bronfman, Khatia Buniatishvili and Hélène Grimaud. Renaud Capuçon was appointed Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite in 2011 and Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 2016. In March 2020, the violinist published his first book, »Mouvement perpétuel«. He has been Artistic Director of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne since the 2021/22 season.
